The app
What is safe-to-spend?
It is your balance minus the bills and commitments still to come this month, such as rent, EMIs, utilities and subscriptions. What is left is what you can spend without coming up short.
How is that different from my bank balance?
Your bank shows everything in the account, including money that is already promised to bills later in the month. Rispense takes that money out first, so the number you see is the number you can use.
Does Rispense connect to my bank?
No. It never asks for your bank login and never moves money. On Android, it can read the payment notifications your bank and UPI apps already send you, with your permission.
Which banks and UPI apps does it read?
A fixed list of bank and UPI apps, which you can see in the app. Notifications from any other app are ignored.
What if a notification is read wrongly?
Every detected payment arrives as a suggestion. You can edit it, confirm it or dismiss it, and nothing counts until you confirm it.
The AI assistant
What can I ask it?
Questions about your own money, such as “Can I afford a ₹2,000 dinner this Saturday?” or “How much have I spent on food this month?”
Is it on by default?
No. It is opt-in. The app asks for your consent first, and you can turn it off at any time.
Can it make up numbers?
The figures come from the app’s own calculations, not from the model. Replies that contain numbers which do not match your figures are blocked. Still, check the app before you act on a reply.
Is it financial advice?
No. It tells you about your own money. It does not recommend investments or financial products.
Your data
Where is my data stored?
Confirmed records sync to your Rispense account, which is stored with Cloudflare. Suggestions you have not reviewed stay on your phone. See Security & data.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Delete your account from Settings, and your records, AI history and account are removed.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Availability
When can I use it?
Rispense is in development. Join the waitlist and we will tell you when it is ready.
Is there an iPhone version?
Android comes first. The iPhone app is not available yet.
How much will it cost?
It is free during development and beta. Pricing has not been announced. See the Refund Policy.
